SendToTeam + Slack Integration

Get notified, review drafts, and approve work directly in Slack channels and DMs without switching tools.

The Slack integration is not about content creation — it is a command and notification layer that lets you manage your SendToTeam workflow without leaving the app your team already has open all day. The SendToTeam Slack app is installed through Slack's standard OAuth flow, requesting chat:write, commands, and incoming-webhook scopes. Your workspace admin approves the install, and the app immediately begins routing notifications to channels you configure.

Notifications are routed by type and channel. You might send outreach draft alerts to #sales-review, content draft notifications to #marketing-queue, and report completions to #exec-dashboard. Each notification includes an interactive Block Kit message with Approve, Edit, and Reject buttons, so a sales manager can scan a draft email directly in Slack and approve it with a single click. The approval triggers the connected integration (Gmail, Outlook, Mailchimp) to send or publish.

Slash commands give you quick access to AI employee management. /stt status shows active tasks across all your AI employees. /stt assign [employee] [brief] creates a new task from a Slack message. /stt report sales weekly requests an on-demand report. These commands work in any channel or DM and return responses visible only to you, so they do not clutter team conversations.

For teams managing multiple AI employees, a dedicated #ai-activity channel acts as a live feed: task started, draft completed, approval received, content published. This gives managers a single pane of glass into automated output without logging into SendToTeam's dashboard. You can mute this channel during focus time and catch up later, or configure digest mode to receive a single daily summary at a time you choose.

The integration works with all Slack plans — Free, Pro, Business+, and Enterprise Grid. On Enterprise Grid, the app can be deployed org-wide or restricted to specific workspaces through your Grid admin settings.

When this may not be the right fit

The Slack integration is a notification and approval layer only. It does not send outbound emails or publish content — those actions happen through the connected email or content tool. Slack message character limits (4,000 per message) apply to draft previews, so very long documents show a truncated preview with a link to the full draft. Workspace admin approval is required to install the app.

Frequently asked questions

Can I approve work directly from a Slack notification?
Yes. Each notification includes interactive buttons (Approve, Edit, Reject) built with Slack's Block Kit. Clicking Approve triggers the downstream action in the connected integration, such as sending a Gmail draft or publishing to WordPress.
Which Slack plans does this integration support?
All plans: Free, Pro, Business+, and Enterprise Grid. On Enterprise Grid, your admin can deploy the app org-wide or limit it to specific workspaces.
What Slack permissions does the SendToTeam app need?
The app requests chat:write (to post notifications), commands (to handle slash commands), and incoming-webhook (for channel-specific alerts). It does not request access to read your message history or user profiles.
Will notifications flood my Slack channels?
You control routing and frequency. Options include real-time per-event alerts, batched notifications every few hours, or a single daily digest. Each notification type can be routed to a different channel or turned off entirely.
